"Everybody reads Everybodys" A National Poultry Publication Devoted to the Best Interests of Poultry and Its Breeders
WELCOME 1922
In the previous issue of Everybodys we paid our respects to the year that has just passed and we now welcome the New Year with gladness and with more expectations that it, like its many predecessors, will surpass all others in poultry progress made and in the ever greater popularity of Standard-bred poultry. We may, at least, rest assured in attaining these hopes if you and I and all others resolve to do and try to the limit of our abilities to accomplish these results.
To do a little more and to do it a little better day by day and year by year is the assurance of final success. Time will not wait and opportunities won't knock unless we are there to answer willingly with honest endeavor, so let us open all doors to opportunity and grasp them with a renewed interest in our work for self and the great industry of which we are a part.
Both the New Year and the future has its advantages upon which we can safely base our predictions for the progress ever hoped for. Poultry and eggs are the fundamentals of stability in food requisites for either the weak or strong, and although prices vary, they always are of a standard that assures profit which is improved by improved quality.
Our older breeders have perfected their lines and proven their strains to an almost unbelievable grade of quality reproduction, while the younger breeders, with this advantage in their foundation stock, have been equally foremost in utilizing this advantage and have built both new strains and records that assure their worth for time to come and the day is here when we, in truth, can say that "like begets like" in Standard-bred poultry.
Time also has given us improved methods in general poultry production that will benefit the present and the future. The modern methods of hatching, brooding, feeding and growing are so simple and so accurate that they add increased pleasure to the poultryman's work. They make poultry keeping more popular and more profitable and they, to a very large extent, are responsible for the improved quality as well as the improved worth and production we have in poultry today.
In the coming year let your aim be to live up to every expectation, not to those of self alone, but also to those demanded by the best interests of your family and state and of the greater poultry industry of our America. We wish you this — an unlimited success for everybody.
