    • Microbial bioremediation is a very potent and eco-friendly approach to alleviate pesticide pollution in agricultural ecosystems, and hydrolase is an effective element for contaminant degradation. In the present study, a novel Mn2+-dependent esterase, PchA, that efficiently hydrolyzes carbamate pesticides with aromatic structures was identified from Pseudomonas sp. PS21. The hydrolytic activity was confirmed to be related closely to the core catalytic domain, which consists of six residues.

  3. Method Development and Validation of Seven Pyrethroid Insecticides in Tea and Vegetable by Modified QuEChERS and HPLC–MS/MS

    • This study developed a quick, easy, cheap, effective, rugged, and safe (QuEChERS) procedure for determining seven pyrethroid pesticide residues in tea, cucumber, and tomato via high-performance liquid chromatography-tandem mass spectrometry (HPLC–MS/MS). The overall average recoveries of the seven pyrethroids were 72%–104% (relative standard deviation (RSD); 2.0%–16.1%, 89%–109% (RSD; 0.7%–17.3%), 82%–110% (RSD; 1.6%–17.1%) for tea, cucumber and tomato, respectively.

In our research, a multiresidue method for pesticide determination was developed and validated for the bee pollen matrix. 247 components met the validation criteria for limit of detection, limit of quantification, linearity, and interday repeatability. Average recoveries varied between 70 and 120% except for 14 analytes, which were corrected during on-going validation.

  21. Emulsification/demulsification method coupled to GC–MS/MS for analysis of multiclass pesticide residues in edible oils

    • A simple, rapid, and sensitive method was developed for simultaneous determination of 103 multiclass pesticides in edible oils. A new strategy of sample preparation involving a spontaneous emulsification followed by membrane-based demulsification was proposed. The developed strategy was compared with other reputed clean-up procedures and found to improve the removal efficiency of matrix interferences without a significant loss of pesticides.
