About the HNCC
Overview
The USDA Human Nutrition Coordinating Committee (HNCC) plays a pivotal role in fostering collaboration among all USDA agencies with research assets in nutrition, nutrition assistance, food security, food safety, and education. The Committee promotes a coordinated approach to various areas of nutrition research, including nutrition surveillance, domestic public health nutrition, diet quality, disease prevention, food systems, global nutrition, nutrition technology, and food science. The HNCC works to ensure that reliable nutrition information is available to all audiences, encourages nutrition research that supports the latest USDA Science and Research Strategy, and regularly convenes members to maintain communications about federal nutrition research.
