More information

Non-Technical Summary: Community land use decisions are vital to the sustainability of our nation's agricultural and natural resources. This project provides leadership, coordination, resources and structure to NEMO education programs in 30 states dedicated to protecting these resources through better land use and provides assistance to states seeking to start a similar program of their own. <P> Approach: Through providing research-based information, educational models, trainings and tools to help new NEMO programs get started and to facilitate the growth and expansion of existing NEMO programs, we envision an ever-strengthening Network that is truly more than the sum of its parts. The Network, in turn, will reach increasing numbers of communities across the country, with each state program serving as a catalyst for changes to land use policies, plans, and regulations in order to better balance growth and water resource protection.
