The overarching goal of this research is to improve weed management outcomes in organic vegetable and grain systems such that farmers can achieve annual reductions in weed pressure and improving profitability. Objective 1. Develop improved mechanistic understanding of physical weed control and define operational guidelines for optimal use of weeding tools. Objective 2. Evaluate potential for optimized physical weed control and proven weed seedbank management practices to result in declining weed densities. Objective 3. Engage stakeholders and help them become data-driven decision makers in their efforts to improve weed management outcomes.
