This project will produce the 'Safe Food Handling for Home Child Care Providers Kit,' which will include a video, an audio song tape, and easy-to-read print guides in Spanish and English.
In the U.S., child care is often provided in the home. In the Southwest, care-givers are often Spanish-speaking, and some have low literacy skills. This has created the need for bilingual consumer food handler education programs. This project will produce the 'Safe Food Handling for Home Child Care Providers Kit,' which will include a video, an audio song tape, and easy-to-read print guides in Spanish and English. The kit will be produced, tested, and distributed through Extension, state child care agencies, and community and church groups.
