BIOLOGICAL CONTROL OF INVASIVE WEEDS IN FLORIDA

Objective

Successful biological control of invasive plant species through the introduction and establishment of host specific natural enemies. Initial plants to be addressed include Schinus terebinthifolia Raddi (Anacardiaceae, Brazilian peppertree), Acacia auriculiformis (Fabaceae, earleaf acacia), and Dioscorea bulbifera L. (Dioscoreaceae, air potato). Additional invasive weeds may also be targeted during this project.
