Determine physical, chemical, and biological parameters/factors controlling denitrification rates in sediment plumes.Quantify ambient (in-situ) denitrification rates in sediment plumes generated by winter/spring and summer storms.Compare N loss by denitrification to N export during stormflows of different magnitude and duration.Develop predictive models and numerical relationships for water column denitrification using measured denitrification rates and key water quality variables/parameters.
