BIOSTIMULANT ENHANCED NITROGEN USE EFFICIENCY IN CANNABIS SATIVA L.

Objective

The goal of this work is to inform sustainable cultivation practices of hemp using biostimulants to maximize plant growth while minimizing fertilizer inputs and crop loss due to root pathogens. The proposed work addresses the following objectives to achievethis goal: 1. Determine whether biostimulants enhance nitrogen use efficiency in hemp under low nitrogen fertilizer conditions. 2. Evaluate whether biostimulants impact plant susceptibility to Pythium myriotylum or Golovinomyces ambrosiae. 3. Identify differentially expressed genes, including known genes involved in nitrogen uptake and utilization, in hemp using RNA sequencing after inoculation with a selected biostimulant from objective one.
