Pilot a drop site community composting program for the OKC Metro to divert municipal waste from landfills and provide baseline data around interest/participation and logistics. Using data and insights from the pilot to make recommendations for a sustainable, integrated, and scalable regional approach to composting as a solution for landfill diversion.Objectives1. Reduce municipal food and waste through the education/marketing component of the pilot program2. Divertresidential food waste from landfills through advertising/use of strategic community drop sites and report.3. Generate compost via Fertile Ground Cooperative and report.4. Encourage new waste management and permaculture business development strategies through findings from reports on pilot program results5. Increase access to compost for agricultural producers, schools, and community gardeners and report6. Reduce reliance on fertilizers, improve soil quality, and increase rainwater absorption through the use of compost.
