Characterisation of the N-linked glycans of the prion protein by HPLC/mass spectrometry The aim of the project is to define the structures of the asparagine-linked carbohydrates of the normal and disease- associated forms of the murine prion protein by HPLC/mass spectrometry. This will test the idea that specific structures are i) unique to the disease- associated form of PrP or ii) unique to individual strains of the infectious agent.
