CHARACTERIZING VALUE-ADDED QTL FROM WILD SOYBEAN FOR ENHANCEMENT OF GERMPLASM RESOURCES

Objective

Objective 1: Utilize existing (wild x domesticated) soybean populations to further refine genomic positions containing genes responsible for elevated protein, improved amino acid profiles, and seed yield. Objective 2: Develop in-house capabilities to quantify amino acid composition of soybean seeds for improvement of breeding operations. Objective 3: Initiate backcrossing efforts to move value-added QTL from wild soybean into adapted soybean germplasm/varieties.
