Objective

The objective of this proposal is to: (1) Determine potential contribution of biofilm formation and sanitizer resistance to beef product contamination by Salmonella enterica; (2) Investigate the diversity of Salmonella strains within and among individual contamination incidences, and to determine if contamination in the same processing plant is caused by the same strains or strains with similar genetic patterns.
