The objectives of the contract resulting from the present procurement procedure are as follows:
<ol><li>identifying general and specific GM plants risk assessment needs with respect to sampling;</li>
<li>identifying scientifically recognised sampling strategies and evaluating their applicability to generation of representative data for GM plants risk assessment;</li>
<li>developing and verifying reliable sampling methods (based on specific experimental and/or simulation work and the information collected under 1 and 2) for the collection of test materials necessary for various aspects of GM plants risk assessment:</li>
<ul><li>molecular characterisation,</li>
<li>comparative assessment of agronomic and phenotypic characteristics,</li>
<li>comparative assessment of compositional data,</li>
<li>toxicological and nutritional safety assessment,</li>
<li>allergenicity safety assessment.</li></ul></ol>
