The elderly are ten times more likely to develop complications or die from food borne illness than the rest of the population. To help reduce the incidence of food borne illness in a segment of the older adult population, a four lesson module about safe food handling is being developed. The lessons will be delivered at six congregate nutrition sites within three North Carolina counties. The effect and impact of the lessons will be measured.
