Objective

To develop a mouse model for neosporosis to replicate disease symptoms such as paralysis and congentital transmission/neonatal abortion in dairy cattle.

Inoculate mice with tachyzoites of the protozoan parasite Neospora caninum and study disease parameters and parasite load infected mice using immunohistochemistry and quantitative polymerase chain reaction.
