Development of Pathatrix Technology for the Concentration and Detection of Enterically Transmitted Viruses in Milk and Water

Objective

The objective of this cooperative research project is to develop methodologies for the concentration and detection of enterically transmitted viruses in milk and water using the PATHATRIX technology developed by Matrix MicroScience.

More information

Identify anti-viral antibodies coating beads (commercially available and/or custom made) - Optimize coating of beads - Optimize PATHATRIX for virus detection in water. This will include variables such as temperature, time, and coated bead/sample ratios. - Optimize as above for virus detection in milk, but may also include sample dilutions and/or cream separation - Standardize method for repeated measures - If successful, apply above experience to different viruses/matrices.
