Objective

Determine the effect of 3' sialyllactose (3-SL) on fecal shedding and gut populations of E. coli (F18 fimbriae positive, produces post-weaning diarrhea) and Salmonella typhimurium in weaned piglets.

Approach: Conduct feeding studies with 3-SL and determine the effect on colonization of E. coli and Salmonella in weaned pigs.
