Effect of Variety of Stress Factors on the Immune Systems of Poultry

Objective

The purpose of this project is to examine the effects of stress (lighting temp./ crowding, etc.) on the immune system of the chicken and subsequent susceptibility to microbial infection and contamination of shell eggs. Assay will be developed or adapted to measure cytokine levels and T-cell proliferation.
