Effects of Sub-Lethal Stress on Virulence as Related to Ribotype Lineage of Listeria monocytogenes

Objective

This project aims to better understand how the virulence of Listeria monocytogenes is distributed within phylogenetic divisions as determined by molecular subtyping methods, and to discover if sub-lethal processing of food leads to identifiable resistance traits which may be analogous to resistance developed under challenge from an infected host.
