Ethnic/Cultural Food Safety/Preservation Training Program at South Dakota Tribal Colleges

Objective

The objectives of this project are:
<ol>
<li> to assess current availability of culturally and ethnically specific food safety/preservation educational materials; </li>
<li> to design and develop curriculum materials, videos, publications and handouts to assist in hands-on training of vocational staff, teachers, extension and public health workers who will become trainers at Tribal Colleges in South Dakota; </li>
<li>to establish a regional training center for Native Americans and to establish a food safety/preservation advisory committee through a consortium of representatives from the four Tribal Colleges.</li></ol>
