To take advantage of extensive irrigated maps from the Maryland Department of Agriculture to be used in calibration and testing of the Soil and Water Assessment Tool (or SWAT) model under a broad range of irrigation intensities and climatic conditions. Both parties are actively engaged in independent research on increasing our knowledge on the impacts of agricultural management practices and specifically irrigation BMPs on water quality and quantity studies at watershed scale. The objectives stated within the scope of this project will strengthen and enhance ongoing research projects related to our National Program within the scope of this agreement.
