The University of Connecticut,Dept. Of Nutritional Sciences, proposes to implement a food safety distance education course for commercial and non- commercial food handlers in the state. Food handlers will be able to take a food safety course on-line,receiving all the materials and having on-line access to other students and the instructor. This will prepare them to take a national certification exam given by University faculty at various locations throughout the state.In addition, students having completed the course will demonstrate their knowledge of food safety and train others.
