Develop novel insect control techniques based on a detailed functional knowledge of genetics, physiology, biochemistry, toxicology, and molecular biology of stored-product insects, such as insect-lethal genes, biopesticides, growth regulators, and transformed arthropods, which offer alternatives to traditional chemical insecticides and significantly reduce insect-based commodity losses during storage.
