FUNCTIONAL MODULATION OF THE MICROBIOME-GUT-BRAIN AXIS BY WALNUT CONSUMPTION

Objective

The major goals of the study are to 1)understand the extent and persistence of walnut-induced changes to the gut microbiome; 2) Define spatial and temporal changes to the metabolome in gut, blood and brain after walnut consumption; 3) Determine the causal role of walnut-altered microbiome on gut and brain function by fecal microbiota transplantation (FMT).
