This project presents the results from an enhanced statistical analysis of the Scottish data collected in Lothian NHS Board area for the UK-wide Campylobacter Sentinel Surveillance Scheme. The objectives of the study were to describe the epidemiological and microbiological characteristics of cases of campylobacter infection in Lothian NHS Board area between May 2001 and June 2002, document the proportion of cases exposed to selected potential risk factors and compare these proportions to the general population.
