This project will provide Food Safety Education and Training to a geographically isolated population of food producers located in the San Juan Islands of Washington State. This training will provide local teams with the expertise to write and develop their own HACCP plan for a new community-gased Food Processing Center on Lopez Island.
This center will serve producers, consumers and the community at large. The goal of the Lopez Island Food Processing Center is to make San Juan County less dependant on imported food products by providing facilities, services, and education that support a stronger community-based food system.
