Examine the relationship between a healthy diet and pesticide availability and provide examples of this relationship, especially as they relate to pesticide regulation. The challenge of this project is to identify examples of food commodities that contribute to a healthy diet and whose quality, availability, or price have benefitted from specific pest management tools over the past 20 to 30 years. This will require an exhaustive review of the popular and technical literature coordinated with an understanding of accepted dietary principles. Review of recent surveys on nutritional intake will also be conducted.
