IMPACT OF ORGANIC AMENDMENT DERIVED DOM ON FATE AND TRANSPORT OF PFAS IN SOILS

Objective

The overarching goal is to construct a reactive transport model that will include the parameterization of molecular indices of DOM derived from common organic amendments. The model will be applied for selected key PFAS, including short- and long-chain perfluoro carboxylic and sulfonic acids.Specific objectives:Characterize DOM extracted from multiple and typical organic amendments, including biosolids and animal and plant-derived composts.Determine how DOM addition affects the adsorption of PFAS to soils.Construct and validate a reactive transport model that will include the PFAS, soil, and DOM properties.
