Implementing Food Handler Education in South Carolina

After April, 1995, Clemson Extension Service will have three instructor trainers and 25 instructors meeting the requirements to teach the National Restaurants Association's ServSafe Program. Funds from this FSQ project will be used to implement ServSafe with School Food Service (SFS) workers in at least five school districts and train at least ten SFS supervisors to become ServSafe instructors. Training teams consisting of an Extension agent and a SFS supervisor will then be in place to institutionalize ServSafe in the state's school lunch program. This project will also pilot ServSafe with child care providers in ten counties.
