IMPROVING THE SHORT FIBER MEASUREMENT CAPABILITY OF THE ADVANCED FIBER INFORMATION SYSTEM (AFIS)

Objective

Optimize fiber feed ratio; optimize setting between the feed plate and first fiber individualizer; optimize spacing between two fiber individualizers and optimize the transfer ratio between two individualizers based on length and fineness of a fiber. Develop algorithm for controlling the feed ratio and transfer ratio of the fiber individualizers on the AFIS automatically based on known High Volume Instrument (HVI) length and micronaire data.
