INTEGRATED CROP-LIVESTOCK SYSTEMS FOR THE SOUTHEASTERN UNITED STATES

Objective

This project seeks to evaluate integrated crop-livestock systems in east-central Mississippi in hopes of validating or discovering novel production systems that increase agricultural sustainability.This will be accomplished by the following objectives:Objective 1. Evaluate animal performance, forage productivity, and subsequent crop production in varying cover crop systems.Objective 2. Monitor the change in soil physical, chemical, and biological properties during each phase of production.Objective 3. Assess the economic productivity throughout each phase of production.
