The main goal and objective is to develop powerful and efficient statistical methods implemented in extensible open-source software tools to advance the state of the art described in the new USDA blueprint by incorporating high-throughput phenotypes, functional annotation of animal genomes, non-additive effects and other needed features and techniques for quantitative genetics and genomics into genome-enabled analyses, including prediction and GWAS.
