MECHANISMS TO ENHANCE POSTHARVEST QUALITY AND MANAGE QUARANTINED PESTS OF FRUITS AND VEGETABLES

Objective

Determine nonchemical postharvest treatments that disinfest quarantined insect pests. Develop methods to control postharvest disorders to preserve product quality during harvest, transport and storage. Generate basic information about fruit ripening, senescence, quality and phytochemicals to develop technologies that enhances postharvest quality.
