MOBILE-FRIENDLY, VIDEO ANALYTICS PLATFORM FOR THE AUTOMATED RECOGNITION OF LAME CATTLE AT THE HERD LEVEL

Objective

The major goal of this project isto develop, deploy, and disseminate a smartphone app technology for the automated identification of cattle lameness on dairy farms through integrated research and extension activities. The smartphone app will serve as an objective tool for farm workers to improve their effectiveness of visual scoring of lameness, better identify cases of lameness requiring immediate attention, and provide notification of lame cows for follow-up.
