Navajo Food Safety through Pesticide Safety, Integrated Pest Management and Livestock Quality Assurance will develop integrated programs directed at high-risk audiences within the Navajo Nation. Education and adoption programs will address concerns in food safety, integrated pest management, small farm management and sustainable agriculture. The program will use culturally sensitive demonstration programs on Navajo homesteads and livestock operations, usually conducted by peer educators. Educational programs on these topics will also be presented through Navajo language videotapes, an Indian Livestock and Food Product Safety Seminar and follow up newsletters.
