<OL> <LI> Develop diagnostic tools for rapid identification of foodborne contaminants; <LI> Develop models to predict and track contaminants; <LI>Identify, design and evaluate alternative processing, handling, packaging,transport and storage systems to minimize contaminants of foods; <LI>Develop appropriate technology transfer of information and knowledge related to food safety for the industry and the public.
There will be a joing program planning between ARS Staff at Eastern Regional Research Center and Agricultural Research Programs, Purdue University. The approach will include a targeted peer evaluated grants program for staff at Purdue University.
