Pesticide Safety Education Program of Rhode Island

Objective

We will train pesticide applicators in the use of restricted use pesticides. We will present educational programs in a classroom setting and supplement with hands-on training where possible. We will develop and update manuals, PowerPoint slide sets, DVD's, and other training materials to enhance the pesticide training experience. We will develop and coordinate recertification educational programs to allow certified applicators to obtain educational credits to allow them to maintain their certifications. We will maintain web sites and mail training notices to applicators to keep them informed of training opportunities. These efforts will result in better trained, competent pesticide applicators which will minimize any possible negative effects on humans, animals, or the environment.
