NON-TECHNICAL SUMMARY: This research will be done to develop a biosensor method for rapid detection of Salmonella Typhimurium in chicken carcass. <P>
APPROACH: Methods of detection of food-borne pathogens, such as Salmonella Typhimurium, are still laborious. The goal of this project is to use a SPR biosensor for rapid and affordable detection of Salmonella Typhimurium in chicken carcasses. The SPR biosensor has the ability to measure, in real time, interactions of biomolecules due to the interfacial index changes caused by the antibody-antigen interactions.
