Rapid Differentiation of Verticillium Dahliae and Development of Host Resistance for Integrated Management of Verticillium Wilt of Lettuce

Objective

Differentiate races of the fungal pathogen, Verticillium dahliae, and develop host resistance to both races of the pathogen.

More information

APPROACH: Polymerase chain reaction (PCR) will be performed using DNA from isolates of V. dahliae currently available and those collected from the field. The isolates available, and those collected, will be used to screen lettuce germplasm for resistance.
