In the last twenty years there has been a significant increase in the number of produce associated food borne disease outbreaks in the US. The major objective of this project is to plan, develop and implement a series of train- the-trainer workshops on good agricultural practices and food safety assurance techniques for the agricultural community in all 50 states in the US. Through these workshops, farmers will better understand the principles of safe food production and be able to reduce the risks of pathogenic organisms on the fruits and vegetables that they grow.
