STAKEHOLDER-INFORMED INTEGRATED VIDEO AND DATA SYSTEMS FOR IMPROVED DAIRY EFFICIENCY

Objective

The ultimate goal of this project is to improve feed efficiency and feed consistency on dairy farms through the use of automated video analytic systems. This will be accomplished through the following objectives.1. Engage with end-users of technology to anticipate stakeholder's perceptions and improve design of technology to increase adoption.2. Utilize multispectral camera systems to evaluate feed consistency of diets.3. Utilize stereo vision video systems to continuously monitor feed intake of cows.4. Integrate intake measurements with milk production measurments to determine daily feed efficency measurements per cow.
