"We Wish You Well" is a food safety education program designed for food banks. County Extension staff and volunteers (including Master Food Preservers) will teach HACCP-based principles of safe food handling to food bank staff in three Oregon regions: urban-areas (year 1); Central Oregon (year 2); and Eastern Oregon (year 3).
A bag of kitchen items imprinted with food safety messages (Keep it clean; Cook it well;Cool it soon) will then be distributed to food bank clientele who receive emergency food boxes. Program impact will be evaluated by surveying food bank staffs by mail and interviewing clientele.
