NAL tracks publications citing datasets found in Ag Data Commons (ADC).
Since 2017, the number of publications citing ADC datasets increased for both self-citations, where authors cite their own datasets, and for external citations, where authors cite datasets published by others. The proportion of self to external datasets is decreasing, indicating that authors are finding and using datasets in Ag Data Commons published by others.
Trend in Citations to ADC
Since 2017, the number of publications citing datasets found in the Ag Data Commons increased for both self citations, where authors cite their own datasets, and for external citations, where authors cite datasets published by others. Also, the proportion of self to external datasets is decreasing, indicating that authors are finding and using datasets in Ag Data Commons published by others. For example, in 2017, 50% of the total were self citations. By 2023, less than 20% of the total were self citations.
