Human Nutrition

The Human Nutrition Information Service (HNIS) offered support services from 1981 to 1994 to the Food and Nutrition Service of the United States Department of Agriculture. The HNIS’s mission was to support health and well-being of Americans through improved nutrition by conducting food consumption surveys, food composition research, and nutrition education programs.
