Family Expenditures for Housing and Household Operation: Five Regions

"This volume deals with expenditures for housing and household operation of families living in the villages and small cities surveyed by the Bureau of Home Economics as a part of the consumer purchases study. Expenditures of farm families for these consumption items are discussed in another report, Family Expenditures for Housing and Household Operation, Five Regions, Farm Series. A third volume on housing—Family Housing and Facilities, Five Regions, Urban, Village, and Farm—describes the dwellings of these families, the number of rooms, the number of persons per room, and the presence or absence of electric lights, central furnace, hot and cold water, and other sanitary facilities."
